My photography journey began in 2012. After watching some videos on YouTube and reading the blogs of some early online photographers I got the itch to try photography. I purchased my first camera, a Canon 60D, along with a few lenses. Starting out I wasn't able to capture scenes as I had hoped. When I got back home and looked at images on the computer they never turned out quite like the images I had admired online. It was then I realized I needed to hunker down and really study what made the images that got me excited great. Solid composition, pleasing light, an interesting subject, and good camera technique revealed themselves as keys to getting better results. Since that realization I have focused on improving my skills and implementing those key elements into my images. Although I enjoy photographing local and state parks here in Ohio my passion is travel and exploring the national parks located throughout the United States, especially those located in the southwest. When not out photographing I enjoy printing my work. For me the print represents the important final step in the photographic process. My goal in creating the print is to have a tangible piece of art that evokes emotion and inspires others to get out and explore the outdoors. The desire to share my work has gotten me involved in art shows. I enjoy talking to people about places I have visited and the scenes I have captured. My experiences have been great so far and I look forward to exhibiting at additional shows in the future. The message behind my work is simple; the world is a beautiful place. Get out there, explore, and enjoy it! Doing so will recharge your mind, body, and soul.
